This new, 290-square-foot addition to a 1920s Oshawa, Ont., home is a great example of classic, functional design by Christine Elliott. The room’s fireplace features a bespoke plaster surround and anchors a seating area composed of custom-built furniture. A gallery wall of antique art hangs over a cosy reading nook, and an authentic Parisian bistro table gives a casual eating area a certain je ne sais quoi. The sundrenched space is full of accents that reflect the garden views seen through the stately window.
