Tanggapan kelompok Palestina tidak membahas isu penting pelucutan senjatanya, tetapi mereka mengatakan bersedia untuk “segera memasuki” perundingan perdamaian melalui mediator.
Dalam pidato video setelah pernyataan Hamas, Presiden Trump mengatakan perkembangan ini "belum pernah terjadi sebelumnya", sebelum memperingatkan bahwa penting untuk "mencapai kata akhir secara konkret".
Trump juga dikabarkan telah mengatakan bahwa dirinya yakin Hamas siap untuk "perdamaian abadi", dan Trump meminta Israel untuk "segera menghentikan pengeboman Gaza" dalam sebuah postingan di platform Truth Social miliknya.
Sementara itu ditengah upaya Trump perdamaian, Israel terus melanjutkan pemboman mematikannya di Gaza, menewaskan sedikitnya 72 warga Palestina di Jalur Gaza pada hari Jumat, menurut sumber medis.
Diketahui Perang Israel di Gaza telah menewaskan sedikitnya 66.288 orang dan melukai 169.165 orang sejak Oktober 2023.
Ribuan lainnya diyakini terkubur di bawah reruntuhan. Sebanyak 1.139 orang tewas di Israel selama serangan 7 Oktober 2023, dan sekitar 200 orang ditawan.
