C’è chi ama il tennis. Chi dedica il tempo libero al cane o al gatto. E poi c’è Renato Gobbetto, trevigiano doc, classe 1964, ex bancario oggi in pensione, allevatore amatoriale di tartarughe. Lui ha una passione decisamente fuori dal comune: vive insieme a 400 tartarughe. E da quando non va più in ufficio «sono le più felici, mi hanno tutto per loro». La storia comincia nel 2009, quando lui e la moglie acquistano una casa con un giardino. «È riaffiorato un ricordo d’infanzia, quando andavo con mio padre da un amico che aveva tantissime tartarughe. Ero così piccolo che ricordo solo che mi divertivo un mondo a camminarci sopra». Da quel ricordo nascono le prime due tartarughine, poi il numero cresce rapidamente. «Da lì è esploso tutto. Oggi sono quattrocento», afferma Gobbetto con fierezza.Nel suo giardino di 500 metri quadrati convivono esemplari minuscoli, grandi quanto una monetina, e altri con un piastrone che arriva a 35 centimetri. «Quelle più grandi hanno bisogno di almeno venti metri quadrati ciascuna. E ogni tanto, soprattutto d’estate, se lascio la porta aperta, me le ritrovo in casa, tranquille come se fosse la loro». Receive SMS online on sms24.me
