The IOC just banned transgender women from competing in women's events at the Olympics and the woke meltdown on TikTok has been absolutely spectacular. The transgender sports debate has been raging for years but the International Olympic Committee finally settled it — biological males will compete with men starting from the 2028 LA Games, determined by a one-time gene screening test.
The policy is backed by science and reviewed by medical experts. The IOC noted male performance advantage over women is 10-12% in running and swimming and greater than 100% in explosive power events. Staggering that this needed a 10 page document.
SugarTits and I go through the TikTok reaction videos — the ones claiming this somehow hurts cisgender women, the ones boycotting the Olympics, darts and chess simultaneously, the one who somehow ended up at blackface, and the classic argument that because no trans woman has won a gold medal yet there's clearly no issue.
