Broadly speaking, Bengal is divided into three regions: South, North, and Rarh. South Bengal comprises 183 seats. According to the exit poll conducted by Matrize, the BJP could win between 80 and 90 of these 183 seats in South Bengal. Conversely, Mamata Banerjee's party could suffer setbacks in South Bengal—traditionally considered a stronghold of the Trinamool Congress. According to the Matrize exit poll, the TMC is projected to secure between 88 and 98 seats in South Bengal; this implies that the TMC currently holds an edge over the BJP in this region. Nevertheless, when compared to the previous election, the Trinamool Congress appears to be facing a loss of 25 to 35 seats in South Bengal.
