Emilio’s talk challenges the traditional idea that success means being number one. It explores self-confidence, self-compassion, and the pressure to reach the top, arguing that fulfillment comes from authenticity, meaningful work, personal growth, and community. Ultimately, it encourages people to redefine success by valuing happiness, relationships, and purpose over competition and status. I am an educator and agrotechnology researcher based in León, Guanajuato, dedicated to bridging the gap between technical innovation and human development. With a degree in Agronomy from Universidad La Salle Bajío, my career has centered on controlled-environment agriculture, specifically vertical hydroponic systems (PFALs). My research focuses on optimizing crop yields for leafy greens through specialized LED lighting and nutrient management, aiming to make sustainable indoor farming more efficient.Parallel to my technical work, I have found deep fulfillment in academia as a high school and university instructor. I specialize in teaching Geography and Agribusiness, where I mentor students in navigating complex socio-environmental challenges. I view myself as a facilitator helping others achieve their goals. I believe that true success in both science and teaching is found not at the "lonely top," but in the collaborative plateaus where shared knowledge creates real impact.
