KLANG AUS DER TIEFE: Alte Wal-Aufnahme von 1949 verblüfft heute ForscherEine historische Tonaufnahme sorgt bei Meeresforschern für Aufsehen. US-Wissenschaftler untersuchen derzeit vermutlich die älteste bekannte Aufnahme von Walgesängen aus dem Jahr 1949. Das Besondere: Die Unterwassergeräusche stammen aus einer Zeit, in der die Ozeane deutlich leiser waren als heute. Die Aufnahmen liefern wertvolle Daten über die ursprüngliche Klangwelt der Meere und darüber, wie Wale früher miteinander kommunizierten. Forschende hoffen, daraus Rückschlüsse auf das Verhalten der Tiere und auf Veränderungen durch zunehmenden Schiffsverkehr und menschliche Aktivitäten ziehen zu können.
