TRIP REPORT | Last Flight on the A340-600! | Frankfurt to New York | LUFTHANSA Airbus A340-600
Lufthansa Trip Report flying from Frankfurt to New York onboard Lufthansa's Airbus A340-600 on a beautiful late-summer morning.The last dance of Lufthansa's A346. Sadly, the company has retired the jet from service, and this was my last time ever flying on what many people agree to say it is the most beautiful plane ever made.
We took off from Frankfurt heading east and quickly made a 180° turn to start our route to New York JFK. We overflew Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK and Ireland, before crossing the Atlantic. We entered the US close to Boston, just before performing a beautiful approach to New York JFK, with some amazing views of Manhattan included.
All in all, an amazing way to say goodbye to an icon of aviation. A plane that arrived late to the market (when the B747 was starting to be replaced by the B777) but that stayed in the Lufthansa fleet for decades. Farewell A340-600!
