Mahfud MD menyarankan agar tidak ada pembubaran DPR.
Namun ia meminta masyarakat terus memberi kritikan kepada DPR.
Hal itu disampaikan Mahfud MD melalui podcast yang tayang di channel Youtubenya pada Selasa (26/8).
Mahfud MD berharap DPR tidak dibubarkan, meski rakyat marah dengan anggota dewan.
Pasalnya, Mahfud MD menilai DPR merupakan instrumen konstitusi yang penting dalam pemerintah.
Sehingga, Mahfud berharap rakyat terus mengkritik DPR hingga meminta menangkap para koruptor yang ada di pemerintahan dan jajarannya.
"Oleh sebab itu saya berharap, mari kita kritik terus nih pemerintah DPR, koruptor, kita suruh tangkap ramai-ramai, tapi jangan bicara DPR itu dibubarkan, itu instrumen konstitusi," tambah Mahfud.
Mahfud pun memahami demo yang digelar pada Senin (25/8) kemarin.
Menurutnya, aksi unjuk rasa itu sebagai bentuk ekspresi kemarahan rakyat terhadap DPR.
Terlebih seusai adanya kabar kenaikan tunjangan DPR saat rakyat mengalami kesulitan.
