Pertamina menjelaskan proses pancampuran di depo atau terminal utama Bahan Bakar Minyak (BBM) bukanlah proses mengoplos.Corporate Secretary Pertamina Patra Niaga Heppy Wulansari menyatakan, proses yang dilakukan di terminal utama BBM adalah proses injeksi warna atau dyes sebagai pembeda produk agar mudah dikenali masyarakat.
Selain itu juga ada injeksi additive yang berfungsi untuk meningkatkan performance produk Pertamax.
Heppy pun menegaskan, kualitas Pertamax dipastikan sesuai dengan spesifikasi yang ditetapkan pemerintah yakni RON 92.
Produk yang masuk ke terminal BBM Pertamina, merupakan produk jadi yang sesuai dengan RON masing-masing, Pertalite memiliki RON 90 dan Pertamax memiliki RON 92.
