Seth Moulton Leaves Hegseth STUMPED Over His Own Words in Front of Congress

Seth Moulton asks Pete Hegseth if he stands by "no quarter, no mercy."
Hegseth never says yes or no. Then the clock runs out.

At the April 29, 2026 House Armed Services Committee hearing, Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) pressed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on the Iran war. Hegseth said the US was "absolutely" winning. Then Moulton raised Hegseth's March 13 line, "no quarter, no mercy": "Do you stand by that statement?" Hegseth said the department "fights to win," and the clock ran out with no yes or no.

The Defense Department's own Law of War Manual says, "It is forbidden to declare that no quarter will be given." Six months on, oil is moving again, but CBS reports no final deal, and the UK maritime agency counted 30 attacks on commercial vessels in October, a record. My read: "winning" was a sales line, never a report from this war.
