Ngày 12-7, phát ngôn viên Bộ Ngoại giao Nga Maria Zakharova đã bình luận về cam kết của NATO trong việc hỗ trợ Ukraine gia nhập liên minh.Theo bà Zakharova, NATO đã hứa hẹn một "con đường không thể đảo ngược" cho Ukraine để tiến tới việc gia nhập liên minh tại hội nghị thượng đỉnh NATO ở Washington D.C. ngày 10-7. Tuy nhiên, bà Zakharova bày tỏ hoài nghi về kết quả của cam kết này, cho rằng "con đường không thể đảo ngược" này có thể dẫn Ukraine đến vực thẳm.
Hiện NATO và Ukraine chưa phản hồi về phát ngôn của bà Zakharova.
