The U.S.-Iran war has entered a dangerous new phase.Six months into the conflict, Washington and Tehran are escalating attacks across the region from the Strait of Hormuz to Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
The U.S. says it sank five Iranian oil tankers. Iran has retaliated with missile strikes on U.S. military assets and claims it captured an advanced American underwater drone near the Strait of Hormuz.
Tehran also claims to have shot down a U.S. MQ-1 drone, while Washington has yet to confirm either claim.
Meanwhile, Iran continues to put pressure on shipping through Hormuz, while Iran-aligned Houthis have expanded attacks into Saudi Arabia, targeting cities and oil infrastructure.
