Pemprov Jateng Tanda Tangani Kerja Sama dengan UNESCO Atasi Banjir dan Kekeringan di 32 Provinsi
BALI, KOMPAS.TV - Forum internasional pengelolaan air yang dibuka Presiden RI di Nusa Dua Bali, dimanfaatkan Pj Gubernur Jawa Tengah untuk melakukan kerjasama dengan UNESCO yang sempat terhenti pada tahun 2021 lalu.Melalui penandatangan kerja sama Letter of Intent ini, pemerintah Provinsi Jawa Tengah akan melakukan penanganan banjir serta kekeringan yang sering terjadi di 32 provinsi.
Pemerintah Provinsi Jawa Tengah sengaja memilih UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education karena terbukti memperkuat upaya-upaya yang dilakukan perguruan-perguruan tinggi dan pusat-pusat penelitian dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan tenaga-tenaga profesional di sektor air.
Fokus kerja sama yang digarap adalah peningkatan kapasitas sumber daya manusia yang mencakup pengembangan sistem polder dan perlindungan pesisir.
Pengelolaan sanitasi dan air minum, pengelolaan limbah cair dan padat, adaptasi dan ketahanan perkotaan di kawasan pesisir pantai utara Jawa Tengah serta pengelolaan sumber daya air di Jawa Tengah.
