Payés quelques centimes, sans contrat ni protection sociale pour certains, ils nourrissent depuis Antananarivo les IA de Google, Amazon ou ChatGPT. David, père de trois enfants, enchaîne les micro-tâches depuis son salon, entre deux services de son snack de quartier. Elina, 25 ans, salariée d’une entreprise locale, fait partie des rares à bénéficier d’un contrat et d’un bureau moderne. Dani, lui, travaille seul. Pour accéder aux plateformes interdites dans son pays, il a dû acheter un compte étranger. Malgré ses maigres revenus, il rêve d’indépendance et d’une maison à construire pour sa famille. Un secteur fragile, à la fois vitrine d’opportunités pour une jeunesse connectée et miroir d’une nouvelle exploitation mondiale. Tandis que le gouvernement déroule le tapis rouge aux investisseurs étrangers, certains ingénieurs malgaches inventent leurs propres solutions, comme Fitahiana et Fahasoavana qui ont conçu une application d’IA agricole pour détecter les maladies des plantes. Entre survie, débrouille et innovation, plongée dans les coulisses méconnues de l’intelligence artificielle, à travers un pays devenu à la fois usine du clic et laboratoire d’avenir.
