Khawatir Ditangkap, Netanyahu Desak Para Pemimpin Dunia Cegah ICC Rilis Surat Penangkapan Dirinya

Surat tersebut dapat dikeluarkan oleh Pengadilan Kriminal Internasional (ICC) atas tuduhan kejahatan perang di Gaza.
Dalam video di akun YouTube resminya, Netanyahu mengkritik wacana ICC atas rencana menangkap dirinya.
Ia menuduh pengadilan yang bermarkas di Belanda tersebut menghalangi Israel dalam upaya membela diri dari Hamas.
Jika ICC benar-benar mengeluarkan surat penangkapan terhadap Netanyahu, maka dianggap sebagai kejahatan antisemit yang belum pernah terjadi sebelumnya.
Oleh karena itu, Netanyahu menyerukan para pemimpin dunia bebas untuk menentang ICC mengeluarkan surat tersebut.
"Israel berharap para pemimpin dunia bebas untuk berdiri teguh melawan ICC," kata Netanyahu, dikutip dari Anadolu Agency, Rabu (1/5/2024).
Sebagai informasi, ICC membuka penyelidikan atas dugaan kejahatan perang yang dilakukan oleh militer Israel di Tepi Barat dan Gaza pada tahun 2021.
Penyelidikan tersebut juga mencakup peristiwa-peristiwa sejak tahun 2014.
Belakangan, para pejabat tinggi Israel mendengar kabar soal kemungkinan ICC mengeluarkan surat penangkapan terhadap Netanyahu.
Mereka pun langsung menyusun strategi untuk mencegahnya, mulai dari melobi pengadilan, meminta bantuan negara Barat, hingga menyiagakan kedutaan besar.
