Sontak, hal itu membuat para tamu undangan termasuk Zelensky tertawa.
Insiden ini terjadi saat Biden berpidato pada akhir pertemuan puncak NATO, yang diselenggarakan selama tiga hari di Washington.
Saat itu, Biden mempersilakan Zelensky untuk berpidato.
Namun, bukannya menyebut nama Zelensky, ia malah menyebut nama Putin yang diketahui merupakan Presiden Rusia.
Sadar dirinya salah, Biden langsung merevisi ucapannya seraya mengatakan ketegasannya untuk mengalahkan Putin.
"Hadirin sekalian, Presiden Putin. Presiden Putin," kata Biden, sebelum menyadari kesalahannya, dikutip dari CNBC.
"Presiden Putin? Dia akan mengalahkan Presiden Putin, Presiden Zelensky. Saya sangat fokus untuk mengalahkan Putin," imbuh Biden sambil mengoreksi dirinya sendiri.
Zelensky dengan cekatan menanggapi pengenalan yang keliru itu, dengan berkelakar jika dirinya jauh lebih baik.
Seperti diketahui, Biden menderita kegagapan selama puluhan tahun.
Hal itu masih mencuri perhatian internasional hingga saat ini.
