Terbaru, dua santri berhasil diselamatkan setelah sempat terjepit beton dan langsung dilarikan ke RSUD Sidoarjo.
Pantauan TribunJatim.com, proses evakuasi korban juga diiringi isak tangis pihak keluarga.
Puluhan warga di sekitar lokasi juga turut menyaksikan proses evakuasi.
Sebelumnya puluhan korban telah dievakuasi dan mendapat perawatan medis di rumah sakit yang sama.
Sementara itu, petugas gabungan dari Basarnas, BPBD, TNI, Polri, dan relawan bekerja keras menembus tumpukan beton dan besi di tengah area pondok di Desa Buduran.
Sejumlah alat berat dikerahkan untuk mempercepat proses penyelamatan.
Di balik puing-puing, petugas menduga masih ada puluhan santri yang terperangkap lantaran insiden terjadi saat jemaah Salat Asar.
Bahkan suasana di sekitar lokasi dipenuhi kepanikan dan keprihatinan.
Sejumlah wali santri berdatangan dengan wajah cemas, memastikan keselamatan anak-anak mereka setelah mendengar kabar runtuhnya bangunan tersebut.
Hingga malam, upaya evakuasi terus dilanjutkan demi menyelamatkan seluruh korban.
