Social Media: Britische Regierung plant Verbot für Minderjährige
Großbritannien hat ein Social-Media-Verbot für Kinder und Jugendliche angekündigt. Das Land will den unter 16-Jährigen den Zugang zu sozialen Medien verbieten. Premierminister Starmer sprach wörtlich von einem bedeutenden Moment. Das Verbot soll unter anderem für Snapchat, TikTok und Instagram gelten. Messenger-Dienste, wie WhatsApp sollen davon ausgenommen werden. Geplant ist das Verbot für Anfang des kommenden Jahres.Der Entscheidung für das Verbot war eine Befragung im Auftrag der britischen Regierung von Eltern, Kindern und Vertretern der Technologiebranche vorausgegangen. Wie die Nachrichtenagentur AP berichtet, seien etwa 116.000 Rückmeldungen eingegangen. Dabei sprach sich nach Angaben der britischen Kulturministerin Lisa Nandy die große Mehrheit der Befragten für die Einführung des Verbots aus.
