NACH MADURO-FESTNAHME: „Wir sind Kämpfer“ | Venezuelas Ex-Präsident meldet sich aus dem US-KnastDer in den USA inhaftierte venezolanische Ex‑Präsident Nicolás Maduro hat sich erstmals öffentlich aus seiner Haft in New York zu Wort gemeldet. In einem Video, das über seinen Sohn Nikolas Maduro Guerra verbreitet wurde, sagte er: „Uns geht es gut, wir sind Kämpfer.“ Maduro war vor etwa einer Woche bei einem US‑Militäreinsatz in Caracas mit seiner Ehefrau Cilia Flores gefasst und in die Vereinigten Staaten gebracht worden. Dort wird ihm Drogenterrorismus und schwerer Drogenhandel vorgeworfen, und er soll sich in einem Prozess verantworten. In seiner Heimat forderten Anhänger erneut seine Freilassung, doch zeigten sich in Caracas nur rund 1.000 Demonstrierende, deutlich weniger als bei früheren Kundgebungen. US‑Militäroperationen hatten in der Hauptstadt Kämpfe und zahlreiche Todesopfer zur Folge, zudem warnen die USA ihre Staatsbürger vor weiteren Gefahren im Land.
