怪獣タッコングが再び出現した。ウルトラマンと一体化した郷秀樹は自分の力を過信したことから隊長の命令に背き、結果的にタッコングを取り逃がしてしまう。ＭＡＴを除隊され坂田自動車工場へと戻る郷に、坂田は敢えて冷たく接する。その態度に、郷は自分の思い上がりに気づき……
