Kairo penuh kehati-hatian merespons situasi yang kian genting di sekelilingnya.
Bahkan Mesir menolak pengerahan pasukan Mesir di Jalur Gaza pasca perang.
Demikian diungkap dua sumber tingkat tinggi pada Minggu (30/6) sebagaimana dilaporkan saluran berita Al-Qahera.
“Mesir menolak masuknya pasukan Mesir mana pun ke Jalur Gaza,”
Hal ini muncul merespons pernyataan Penasihat Keamanan Nasional Israel Tzachi Hanegbi yang mengatakan rencana menggantikan Hamas akan segera dimulai.
Sumber Mesir menegaskan bahwa menata situasi Gaza pasca perang adalah urusan Palestina.
Di sisi lain, Kairo disebut juga terus mendesak pembebasan sandera Israel dan gencatan senjata di Gaza secara permanen.
Sementara sumber lainnya mengatakan Mesir menolak pengawasan Israel di perbatasan Rafah.
Perbatasan tersebut merupakan satu-satunya akses keluar masuk Gaza.
Mesir pun mendesak tentara Israel mundur dari perbatasan tersebut.
“Mesir bersikeras agar tentara Israel ditarik sepenuhnya dari sisi perbatasan Palestina,” kata sumber itu.
Sumber keamanan juga membantah pernyataan yang menyebut Mesir menyetujui relokasi penyeberangan Rafah untuk membangun terminal baru di dekat penyeberangan Kerem Shalom.
