Why does rest feel unsafe in a world of burnout? Chazz Scott reveals how trauma, stress, and hustle culture wire us to fear slowing down and shows how rest can unlock resilience, mental health, and lasting success. Many people don’t resist rest because they lack motivation, but because their nervous system has learned to treat stillness as danger. Drawing from a moment in Portugal and the history of his great great great grandfather born enslaved in 1828, Chazz explains how generational trauma fuels constant motion. He introduces the Sacrificial Guilt Effect and offers science based tools to retrain the nervous system for clarity, peace, and sustainable success. Chazz Scott is the author of Success Starts Within and a sustainable performance coach helping high achievers build success that feels as good as it looks. As founder of Supra Mentem, he teaches leaders to cultivate self trust, well being, and rest without guilt to redefine what success means today. He also serves as Executive Director of Positively Caviar, Inc., a nonprofit equipping youth with resilience skills. Blending neuroscience, culture, and personal growth, Chazz helps people break free from burnout and create aligned, sustainable success rooted in clarity and inner strength. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx Receive SMS online on sms24.me
