Lembaga Pengkajian Pangan, Obat-obatan dan Kosmetika (LPPOM) MUI mengingatkan pentingnya sertifikasi halal bagi produsen sebagai tanggung jawab kepada konsumen.

Direktur Utama LPPOM Muti Arintawati mengatakan sertifikasi halal tak hanya untuk kepentingan produsen, namun juga tanggung jawab kepada masyarakat sebagai konsumen.

Dia menuturkan selain makanan, kosmetika juga perlu disertifikasi halal karena kandungan yang relatif kompleks. Pemerintah juga diketahui akan menerapkan kewajiban sertifikat halal pada 17 Oktober 2026 nanti.
