Trump mengumumkan kesepakatan tersebut melalui platform media sosialnya, Truth Social.
Dengan menyebut bahwa kedua pihak telah menandatangani tahap awal dari rencana perdamaian untuk Gaza.
Ia mengklaim bahwa semua sandera akan segera dibebaskan.
Sementara Israel akan menarik sebagian pasukannya dari Jalur Gaza sebagai langkah pertama menuju perdamaian yang berkelanjutan.
Dilaporkan, penandatanganan resmi kesepakatan dilakukan di Kairo dan gencatan senjata mulai diterapkan beberapa jam setelahnya.
Melalui tahap pertama kesepakatan ini, Hamas akan membebaskan 20 tawanan Israel.
Dengan imbalan pembebasan lebih dari 2.000 tahanan Palestina.
Di antaranya terdapat 250 tahanan dengan hukuman seumur hidup.
Serta lebih dari 1.700 orang yang ditahan sejak pecahnya perang Gaza dua tahun lalu.
Proses pertukaran tawanan itu diperkirakan akan berlangsung dalam waktu 72 jam setelah kesepakatan mulai dijalankan.
