Dikutip dari Ynetnews.com, Senin (25/8), serangan Houthi ini dilakukan sebagai respons keras setelah Israel menggempur istana presiden di Yaman.
Sistem pertahanan udara Israel dilaporkan mendeteksi hancurnya hulu ledak rudal.
Akibatnya, dua hingga tiga upaya intersepsi gagal menghentikan rudal tersebut.
Sebagai informasi, rudal balistik klaster bukan hal baru di kawasan konflik Timur Tengah.
Proksi Iran diketahui memiliki tiga jenis rudal balistik dengan hulu ledak klaster yang mampu menjangkau penjuru Israel.
Setiap rudal membawa ratusan kilogram bahan peledak dan sekitar 20 submunisi klaster kecil.
Submunisi dilepaskan sekira 7 kilometer di atas target dan tersebar hingga 8 kilometer tanpa panduan presisi.
Dampak rudal ini mirip roket pejuang Al-Qassam yang sebelumnya ditembakkan Hamas dari Gaza.
Meski demikian, dashyatnya rudal klaster ini mampu menimbulkan korban jiwa dan kerusakan parah.
