Is Trump's deal-making really ending the 'forever wars'? Join the discussion | DW News Desk

Analysts say US President Donald Trump's chances of getting the Nobel Peace Prize are slim. Advocates, including Israeli hostage families and heads of state, argue his current proposals and negotiations justify recognition. They argue his negotiations not just on Gaza but on Ukraine, Azerbaijan, North Korea, Cambodia, and elsewhere make him a 'President of peace.' In a letter sent to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, the Hostages and Missing Families Forum said Trump made “possible what many said was impossible.” The call comes as high-stakes negotiations between Israel and Hamas are set to begin Monday in Egypt, based on a 20-point plan announced by Trump last week. Trump himself boasts that his policy approach has already ended a record number of wars and that he is on track to end the world's 'forever wars'. The US leader claims to have resolved six or seven wars in as many months — a figure experts say is grossly exaggerated. Join our live discussion and let us know what you think.
