Die Regierung will eine Reform des Bürgergelds. Mehr Sanktionen sollen helfen, die Menschen zum Arbeiten zu bewegen. Denn viele Bürgergeldempfänger seien faul und wollen nicht arbeiten – soweit die Vorurteile. Doch wer sind die Menschen hinter den Statistiken? STRG_F spricht mit Menschen, die aus verschiedenen Gründen Bürgergeld erhalten: Joshua aus Hamburg, der von einer Entlassungswelle erzählt, durch die er seinen Job verlor. Julia und Martin, junge Eltern, die trotz Arbeit nicht genug Geld haben und aufstocken müssen. Katja, die durch Krankheiten nicht mehr arbeiten kann. Sie berichten aus ihrem Leben und erzählen von ihrem Weg ins Bürgergeld.
