JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Timnas Indonesia U-23 bersiap menghadapi gelaran Piala AFF U-23. Pelatih Gerald Vanenburg bilang, siap berikan yang terbaik untuk Indonesia.Timnas Indonesia akan memulai perjuangan di Piala AFF U-23 2025 melawan Brunei, Selasa (15/7/2025) malam. Mengusung target juara, Garuda Muda siap mengalahkan Bahrain di Stadion Utama GBK, Jakarta.
Pelatih Timnas U-23, Gerald Vanenburg, bilang timnya akan fokus laga demi laga. Meski tanpa laga uji coba, Vanenburg percaya para pemain bisa mengeluarkan permainan terbaiknya.
Timnas Indonesia U-23 tergabung di Grup A bersama Brunei Darussalam, Filipina, dan Malaysia. Selasa malam, di laga perdana, anak asuh Gerald Vanenburg bakal menghadapi Brunei. Kemudian, Jumat melawan Filipina, dan Senin, 21 Juli, melawan Malaysia di laga pamungkas Grup A.
Hanya juara grup dan satu runner-up terbaik yang lolos ke semifinal.
Pelatih Gerald Vanenburg sudah mengumumkan 23 pemain yang bakal dibawa ke Piala AFF U-23 2025. Ia membawa tiga penjaga gawang, salah satunya Cahya Supriadi, mantan penggawa U-19 yang diproyeksikan mentas di Piala Dunia U-20 2023.
Lalu, di lini belakang ada delapan pemain yang dibawa, termasuk Muhammad Ferarri yang sudah berpengalaman di level senior, kala Timnas diarsiteki Shin Tae-yong.
Sementara di lini depan, Jens Raven yang sebelumnya mentas di U-19 kini dipercaya masuk skuad bersama Hokky Caraka dan Rahmat Arjuna.
