How to Make Excel Look Like an App
I asked Claude, right inside Excel, to turn a plain sales table into a dashboard that feels like an app: a green side menu, four pages, live KPI cards and charts. No VBA, no macros.It built the pages in minutes. But it left a calculations block in the middle of every page, made the KPI text too small to read, and put the chart axis at the top, and all of its own checks still passed. I show you the exact prompts, what I had to fix, the 70 permission boxes it asked for, and the one Excel setting that makes any file feel like an app.
