From foreign control over Iran’s oil to the rise of Mohammad Mossadegh and the 1979 revolution, everything changed ending US influence and creating long-term hostility.
Over the years, pressure through sanctions, covert operations, and military actions continued. In recent escalations, the US and Israel have carried out large-scale strikes targeting Iran’s military infrastructure and top leadership, including the elimination of Ali Khamenei in 2026.
At the same time, Iran has responded with missile and drone strikes on US bases and allied countries across the Middle East. As tensions grew, Iran moved towards building its nuclear capability as a means of security and survival
