Nato a Milano da famiglia ticinese, Angelo Giorgetti (1899-1960), pittore e scultore figurativo, dopo essersi formato negli studi di Adolfo Wildt e Aldo Carpi, agli inizi degli anni venti si trasferisce a Parigi, vivendo il clima internazionale degli “Anni folli”. Di questa stagione rimangono eleganti ritratti femminili e felici vedute della capitale francese.
Rientrato nel Ticino alla vigilia della Seconda guerra mondiale, Giorgetti si specializza nella ritrattistica e nei paesaggi, dedicandosi anche a temi di figura, natura morta, fiori e all’arte sacra, e sperimenta tecniche quali l’affresco e il mosaico.
Amante della montagna, che dipinge in luminosi scorci delle valli sopra Lugano e dell’Engadina, compie viaggi di aggiornamento in Germania e in Italia, scegliendo di trascorrere a Lugano gran parte della sua vita.
La mostra, che nasce dall’incontro con Luca Giorgetti, nipote del pittore, presenta per la prima volta, attraverso dipinti, disegni, mosaici, sculture, fotograie e documenti nediti, la vita e il percorso artistico di quest’autore, che possiamo considerare come un testimone del proprio tempo.
Le opere, che abbracciano quarant’anni di attività, provengono dal fondo dei discendenti di Giorgetti, da collezionisti privati e dal MASI di Lugano e offrono uno spaccato inedito su un pittore vissuto nel primo Novecento, oggi dimenticato ma dal sicuro fascino. Receive SMS online on sms24.me
