Вишитий чи тканий рушник в українській традиції. Людина могла мати до 20 таких рушників, які супроводжували її у житті. Вишивали переважно червоними і синіми нитками, білими, а вже в кінці ХІХ століття червоними і чорними, коли стала популярною брокарівська вишивка.Українці використовують вишиті та ткані рушники на дуже різні події і родинні свята.
Кожен український регіон вирізняється своїми рушниками, що є свідченням різноманіття і багатства української вишивки і людської фантазії.
Велику колекцію українських рушників зібрав майстер народного мистецтва з вишивки, колекціонер, етнолог Юрій Мельничук. Він розповів, яке значення має рушник для українського народу, які смисли вкладають у нього?
