Bei Temperaturen bis zu 40 Grad könnte am Freitag der bisherige Hitzerekord für den Monat Juni gebrochen werden. Vor allem im Westen und Südwesten könne es passieren, dass diese Marke geknackt wird, sagte eine Sprecherin des Deutschen Wetterdienstes.Der bisherige Temperaturrekord für den Monat Juni war am 30. Juni 2019 in Bernburg in Sachsen-Anhalt gemessen worden: 39,6 Grad zeigte das Thermometer damals an. Der insgesamt höchste Wert seit Beginn der Aufzeichnungen wurde nur knapp vier Wochen später, am 25. Juli 2019 in Tönisvorst und Duisburg-Baerl gemessen, mit 41,2 Grad.
