Duecento tonnellate di amianto in stato di abbandono sono state rinvenute e sequestrate dalla Guardia di Finanza in Romagna, in tutte le province del territorio. Sono state individuate 13 discariche abusive nel Riminese, nel Forlivese – Cesenate e nel Ravennate dove erano stoccati complessivamente anche nove quintali di altri rifiuti speciali pericolosi su terreni vergini e quindi permeabili: le Fiamme Gialle hanno trovato taniche di olii esausti, rotoli di lana di vetro e batterie al piombo. Rinvenute anche quasi nove tonnellate di rifiuti non pericolosi ma comunque impattanti come inerti, plastica, ferro e vecchi copertoni abbandonati, oltre che legno e vetro.L’operazione, denominata «Zero Amianto», è stata coordinata dalle tre Procura di Rimini, Ravenna e Forlì: 10 persone sono state denunciate per violazioni in materia di gestione illecita di rifiuti e deposito incontrollato a mezzo abbandono dei rifiuti pericolosi Sul piano operativo è stato impiegato il Reparto operativo aeronavale di Rimini: a fare la differenza gli elicotteri delle Fiamme Gialle per scovare le discariche nei punti più impervi e nascosti. Due discariche abusive erano situate nelle immediate vicinanze di altrettante ditte, le altre in terreni adiacenti ad abitazioni private.
