Trump menuding Rusia tetap meluncurkan roket ke kota-kota Ukraina meski mengklaim telah berdialog secara hormat.
Ia menyatakan kekecewaannya dan menyebut perang ini sebagai hal yang memalukan.
Juru bicara Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, menyatakan bahwa Rusia mempertimbangkan ultimatum tersebut, namun belum memberi komentar resmi.
Perang dipastikan masih berlanjut.
Hubungan AS dan Rusia belakangan memburuk, termasuk mandeknya pembicaraan diplomatik.
Trump kini mengambil sikap lebih keras dibanding awal tahun, ketika ia sempat yakin Putin mau berdamai.
