Sebelumya pada minggu lalu di akhir Agustus 2025 sejumlah elemen masyarakat mulai dari mahasiswa hingga buruh melakukan unjuk rasa memprotes sejumlah kebijakan pemerintah.
Demo tersebut diantaranya memprotes besarnya gaji yang diterima anggota DPR RI yang dinilai tidak sensitif terhadap kondisi perekonomian masyarakat terkini.
Aksi demonstrasi akhir Agustus 2025 memanas sebagai perlawanan terhadap tindakan represif aparat usai jatuhnya sejumlah korban jiwa akibat ricuh antara aparat keamanan dan massa dalam sejumlah aksi demo.
Aktivis Gerakan Mahasiswa Nasional Indonesia (GMNI) Arjuna Putra Aldino menyatakan aksi gelombang demonstrasi bentuk kemarahan masyarakat terkait sejumlah faktor termasuk faktor ekonomi.
"Menurut saya yang harus pemerintah camkan bahwa kondisi ekonomi itu adalah basis dari segala macam situasi psikologis, kemarahan, dan sebagainya," kata Arjuna dalam program OnFocus Tribunnews, Rabu (3/9/2025).
