Los Angeles, CA: Tensions in Los Angeles escalated as thousands of protesters took to the streets after President Trump deployed National Guard members.Trump posted on Truth Social: "ARREST THE PEOPLE IN FACE MASKS, NOW!" Trump added: "Looking really bad in L.A. BRING IN THE TROOPS!!!"
California Governor Gavin Newsom posted in response on X: "Let’s get this straight:
1) Local law enforcement didn’t need help.
2) Trump sent troops anyway — to manufacture chaos and violence.
3) Trump succeeded.
4) Now things are destabilized and we need to send in more law enforcement just to clean up Trump’s mess."
Police patrolled the streets on horseback while others lined up in riot gear to protect federal facilities in the area. Officials declared 'unlawful assembly.'
