Dominikanische Republik mit Sarazar - Von Santo Domingo quer durchs Land bis Jarabacoa | ARD Reisen
Die Dominikanische Republik gilt als Mekka der All-Inclusive-Hotels. Doch lohnt sich auch ein Roadtrip durch das Land auf der zweitgrößten Karibikinsel? Sarazar und sein Kumpel Benni finden es heraus. Los geht es in Santo Domingo, dessen koloniale Altstadt zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe gehört. Über das Fischerdorf Bayahibe reisen sie zur Isla Saona mit ihrer legendären Sandbank mitten im Meer. In Punta Cana werfen sie einen Blick in die Welt der großen Resorts und fliegen per Zipline durch den Dschungel. Abseits der Touristenhochburgen warten die fast menschenleeren Strände von Miches, die Karstfelsen des Nationalparks Los Haitises und auf der Halbinsel Samaná der 50 Meter hohe Wasserfall El Limón. Weiter geht es in die alte Hafenstadt Puerto Plata mit ihrer spanischen Festung und zu den 27 Wasserfällen von Damajagua, wo die beiden beim Canyoning von Klippen springen. Zum Abschluss führt die Reise in die Berge von Jarabacoa, die „Schweiz der Karibik“. Wie sicher ist das Land?
