Durante años, el BCE inundó el sistema financiero de liquidez, los tipos de interés cayeron y los Estados pudieron financiarse a costes cada vez menores. Después llegó el QE, las compras masivas de deuda pública creando una montaña de reservas bancarias.

Pero entonces llegó la inflación y los tipos tuvieron que subir.
Ahora aparece la paradoja: ¿qué ocurre cuando un banco central tiene enormes cantidades de activos comprados con tipos muy bajos y, al mismo tiempo, debe remunerar las reservas de los bancos a tipos mucho más altos?

En este vídeo repasamos rápidamente cómo hemos llegado hasta aquí y por qué el sistema parece atrapado entre dos riesgos: inflación por un lado y crisis de deuda y ajuste fiscal por el otro.
