ÚLTIMA HORA: Venezuela anuncia liberación de presos nacionales y extranjeros

La medida, según dijo, busca contribuir a la «búsqueda de la paz» y la estabilidad del país. De acuerdo con su declaración, los procesos de excarcelación comenzaron a ejecutarse de inmediato y forman parte de una decisión tomada por el Gobierno junto con otras instituciones estatales.
Según el Foro Penal, organización dedicada a la defensa de los derechos humanos, en Venezuela permanecen al menos 863 personas encarceladas o perseguidas por razones políticas. Por su parte, la Plataforma Unitaria Democrática ha señalado que la liberación de todos los presos políticos debe acompañarse con otras acciones urgentes como el cese de la represión.
