Lugares de interés turístico de toda China han recibido una avalancha de visitantes durante las vacaciones del Día Internacional de los Trabajadores. En Beijing, la capital del país, los parques municipales y el Museo de Jardines y Arquitectura del Paisaje de China registraron más de 500.000 visitas el viernes. En el noroeste, en la provincia de Shaanxi, las ciudades históricas y el Museo del Sitio del Mausoleo del Emperador Qinshihuang se encuentran entre los destinos turísticos más populares. Al mediodía del 1 de mayo, más de 900 sitios turísticos de la provincia de Sichuan, en el suroeste del país, habían recibido a más de 5,6 millones de visitantes, un incremento de casi 9 % respecto al año pasado.
