Hal ini disampaikan Pacul merespons pernyataan Menteri Kebudayaan Fadli Zon, yang mengklaim tidak ada pemerkosaan massal pada Mei 1998.
Menurut Pacul, siapapun yang melakukan penulisan sejarah pasti memiliki unsur subjektifitas.
Pacul meminta Fadli Zon membaca tulisan Presiden ke-3, Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie, terkait pemerkosaan massal pada Mei 1998.
Dalam pidato 14 Agustus 1998 di hadapan DPR, Habibie mengakui adanya peristiwa kekerasan seksual pada Mei 1998.
