Pernyataan tegas ini merespons ketegangan di perbatasan Lebanon dengan militan Hizbullah.
Dalam kunjungannya di markas Angkatan Udara di Tel Aviv pada Kamis (4/7/2024), Netanyahu menekankan ucapannya bukan omong kosong.
Ia tak segan melakukan segala cara untuk melindungi Israel, termasuk menyerang Lebanon.
Namun, Netanyahu mengklaim saat ini bukanlah waktu yang tepat untuk mewujudkannya.
Sebab, ia berencana memulihkan keamanan di utara imbas konflik dengan Hizbullah.
"Kami telah menetapkan prinsip siapa pun yang menyakiti kami adalah orang mati," kata Netanyahu.
Diketahui, sebagian besar penduduk di Israel utara telah mengungsi sejak Hizbullah terlibat konflik dengan IDF.
Hal ini mempertimbangkan faktor keamanan, karena serangan roket hampir terjadi setiap hari.
Bahkan, Sekjen PBB sampai khawatir jika konfrontasi tersebut akan meletus menjadi perang besar.
