Italy To Resume Funding For The United Nations' Palestinian Relief Organisation

Italy will soon resume funding for the United Nations’ Palestinian Relief Organisation. Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni told Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa that Italy supports a sustainable ceasefire in Gaza and the release of the Israeli hostages held by Hamas. This comes a day after the UN World Court ordered Israel to immediately halt its military operations in Gaza. This is being touted as a landmark emergency ruling in South Africa’s case accusing Israel of genocide. In the last few weeks, quite a few countries have resumed their funding for the agency, including Austria and Germany. The war between Israel and Hamas began last year.
