Kisah itu dialami oleh Vishwashkumar Ramesh yang menjadi satu-satunya penumpang selamat dari kecelakaan Air India 171 pada Kamis (12/6).
Peristiwa itu mengingatkan kepada penyanyi asal Thailad, James Ruangsak Loychusak yang juga selamat dari kecelakaan pesawat karena duduk di kuris 11A.
Dikutip dari Kompas.com, James mengaku teringat peristiwa 27 tahun lalu yang menimpa dirinya setelah membaca kisah kecelakaan Air India.
James duduk di kursi 11A saat pesawat Airbus A310 milik Thai Airways lepas landas dari Bandara Internasional Bangkok menuju Bandara Internasional Surat Thani pada 1998.
Cuaca buruk menyebabkan pesawat gagal mendarat dalam tiga upaya pertama.
Pada upaya keempat, hidung pesawat terangkat berlebihan hingga menyebabkan hilangnya daya angkat secara tiba-tiba.
Pesawat yang ditumpangi penyanyi Thailand ini jatuh sekira pukul 19.08 waktu setempat.
Dari 146 penumpang, sebanyak 101 orang tewas.
Sebanyak 45 penumpang selamat, termasuk James yang duduk di kursi 11A.
Kecelakaan tersebut tercatat sebagai insiden kedua paling mematikan dalam sejarah penerbangan Thailand, setelah tragedi Lauda Air 004.
