At Least 15 Killed As Putin's Hypersonic, Ballistic Missiles Batter Ukraine | Vantage on Firstpost
On the 20th of August, Russia launched a major missile attack on Ukraine, striking multiple locations in Kyiv. As per the Ukrainian Armed Forces, more than 160 projectiles were launched from Russia. Moscow launched a mix of hypersonic missiles, ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones. As per Ukraine, Russia used the Zircon, Iskander-M, KN-23, Kalibr and Oniks missiles paired with the Geran drones. At least 15 Ukrainian civilians were killed in the August 20 attack and more than a dozen were left wounded. The increase in Russia's attacks come as Ukraine runs short on interceptor missiles. As per reports, several Ukrainian patriot batteries have not fired an interceptor in weeks owing to a shortage in ammunition. It takes at least 2 to 3 years, for an entire Patriot System to be manufactured, involving over 400 unique suppliers across multiple nations.
