Diantaranya hadir mantan Gubernur DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan, pengamat hukum tata negara Refly Harun, Wakil Ketua KPK 2015โ2019 Saut Situmorang, dan pengamat politik Rocky Gerung.
Pengadilan Tindak Pidana Korupsi Jakarta hari ini menggelar sidang vonis perkara dugaan korupsi impor gula di Kementerian Perdagangan peridoe 2015-2016 untuk terdakwa eks Mendag Tom Lembong. Adapun pada perkara dugaan korupsi importasi gula di Kementerian Perdagangan periode 2015-2016. Mantan Menteri Perdagangan, Thomas Trikasih Lembong alias Tom Lembong dituntut 7 tahun penjara.
Tak hanya itu jaksa penuntut umum juga menuntut terdakwa Tom Lembong dengan pidana denda kepada sebesar Rp 750 juta subsider 6 bulan kurungan. Tom Lembong tak dikenakan pidana tambahan berupa pembayaran uang pengganti kepada negara. Atas perkara yang mengakibatkan kerugian keuangan negara sebesar Rp578 miliar itu.
Tom Lembong Tidak dibebankan membayar uang pengganti lantaran Tom Lembong tidak memperkaya diri sendiri atau menikmati uang hasil kasus korupsi impor gula tersebut. Jaksa pun berkesimpulan bahwa pembayaran uang pengganti itu dapat dibebankan kepada pihak swasta yang menikmati hasil tindak pidana korupsi tersebut.
Dalam dakwaannya, Jaksa menyebut, kerugian negara senilai Rp578 miliar itu diakibatkan adanya aktivitas impor gula yang dilakukan Tom Lembong dengan menerbitkan izin impor gula kristal mentah periode 2015-2016 kepada 10 perusahaan swasta tanpa adanya persetujuan dari Kementerian Perindustrian.
Jaksa dalam surat dakwaannya mempersoalkan tindakan Tom Lembong yang menunjuk sejumlah koperasi TNI-Polri untuk mengendalikan harga gula, alih-alih perusahaan BUMN. Tom dinilai jaksa telah melanggar Pasal 3 juncto Pasal 18 UU Tipikor juncto Pasal 55 ayat 1 ke-1 KUHP.
