Senator Lindsey Graham mendesak Trump segera menyerang situs nuklir Fordow Iran di dalam gunung di Iran tengah.
“Israel mendominasi langit dan telah menghancurkan kepemimpinan militer dan ilmiah Iran. Mereka juga telah menyebabkan kerusakan besar pada infrastruktur nuklir Iran. Namun, satu lokasi yang masih berdiri – lokasi Fordow yang berada jauh di bawah tanah – harus ditangani untuk mencapai tujuan bersama yaitu memastikan program pengayaan nuklir Iran berakhir,” tulis Graham.
Graham berdalih, menyerang situs Fordow bisa memastikan pengayaan nuklir Iran berakhir.
Lokasi Fordow ini diperkirakan berada 80 meter (260 kaki) di bawah batu dan tanah.
AS mengklaim bahwa hanya mereka yang memiliki bom penghancur bunker yang dapat menembus gunung dan merusak fasilitas tersebut.
Sementara itu, Iran membantah jika pihaknya berupaya membuat senjata nuklir.
Badan nuklir PBB juga menyatakan Iran tidak memiliki indikasi tengah membangun senjata nuklir.
Diketahui sebelumnya Presiden AS Donald Trump mengaku tidak ingin melakukan serangan terhadap Iran.
Namun ia siap bertindak jika diperlukan untuk menghentikan program nuklir Iran.
