Man Builds a Luxury Twin-Engine Speedboat Using Foam and Plywood | Full Build @Nasatchannel
What starts with polystyrene foam, plywood and an ambitious idea becomes a sleek twin-engine speedboat capable of around 50 km/h.Phan builds virtually every part from scratch, forming the lightweight hull with foam, plywood and fibreglass before fabricating the rudders, propeller shafts, engine mounts, exhaust, cooling system and upper shell.
Power comes from two diesel engines producing a combined 36 horsepower, driving marine gearboxes and counter-rotating propellers. He also builds the throttle and gearbox controls, steering system and instrument panel.
After weeks of fabrication, fibreglass work, painting and mechanical installation, the finished boat finally leaves the workshop for its first launch.
Watch as this homemade machine takes on rivers, oyster farms, mangroves and eventually the open sea.
